My 5 favorite minerals from Lavrion p.2 -AZURITE-

Azurite ranks in my top 5 for several reasons, primarily due to the stunning photographs it provides, as I am a photographer by passion and profession. While Azurite is not commonly found worldwide, in Lavrion, it is almost ubiquitous, appearing in various forms and often associated with numerous other minerals, making it an amusing topic of conversation among collectors.

Over the years, there have been significant Azurite discoveries in Lavrion, but in my view, the most notable are the 2012 find in the "Azurite Shaft" and the 2017 discovery by the Kapellas family.

Probably the best specimen in my collection is that one from the 2017 find by the Kapellas family that comes from the 3rd level of the Christiana area.

The crystal mentioned above stands at a height of 2.5 cm and is one of my favorites. However, I must confess that being the best isn't everything. In the world of micromounts, shapes and forms can often be amusing, peculiar, or most notably abstract, much like the next picture, which reminds me of a "Indian" boy.
